Celebrating Food
It is unlikely that any other country in the world has as many festivals, fairs and feast days as Mexico. The calendar of saint's days creates frequent reasons for a fiesta and one of the most important elements of these festivities is food. So important is the cultivation, preparation and consumption of food that there are ferias (fairs) dedicated solely to the local harvest. Here is a small selection throughout the year:
